We are seeking a Principal/Associate Geotechnical Engineer to join us in Edinburgh.

As a leader in the Ground Engineering Group, your responsibilities will include:

• Support team growth and provide project leadership
• Participate in geotechnical investigation campaigns
• Design geotechnical structures and act as a technical reviewer
• Make decisions and technical recommendations for UK programmes in the energy sector and other infrastructure projects
• Lead and direct large‑scale geotechnical studies, identify and mitigate risks
• Manage complex technical situations and advise on new methods and tools
• Coaching and leadership of staff, and contribute to service proposals
• Advocate for the development of geotechnical engineering within Stantec UK and Ireland

• Bachelor’s degree in civil, geological or related engineering (Master preferred).
• Extensive experience in infrastructure projects.
• Chartered membership or actively working towards chartership (ICE or Geological Society).
• Excellent technical writing skills for interpretative reports.
• Proven experience in design and analysis of geotechnical structures.
• Leadership experience managing teams.
