Position: Research Fellow (Accreditation) TLNT1_NI
The Centre for Evidence Based Youth Services was established in 2026 in the School of Social Sciences, Education and Social Work at QUB and is an exciting partnership between the university and the Education Authority for Northern Ireland. Its primary goal is to better understand the complex lives of children and young people, and build stronger evidence around how services can improve the lives of individuals as they transition through adolescence into adulthood.

Working closely with policy makers, practitioners and local communities, the research centre identifies priorities and facilitates new insights to inform new responses. The focus of this role will be on understanding the nature of evidence within youth services, supporting the development of a quality standard, facilitating expert training programmes that will be facilitated via QUB and explore new revenue sources.

About the person The successful candidate must have, and your application should clearly demonstrate that you meet the following essential criteria:
Hold an upper second class honours degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field (e.g., youth work, criminology, behavioural science, public health) or a Masters degree in a relevant area. Have or be about to obtain a PhD in a relevant subject (within 6 months) Have substantial experience of engaging with statutory agencies (e.g., police, probation, education) in an applied research setting.

Have experience of communicating research to lay audiences. This post is available for 12 months. Fixed term contract posts are available for the stated period in the first instance but in particular circumstances may be renewed or made permanent subject to availability of funding.
