UX​/Product Designer

Overview

MCS Group is looking for a UX / Product Designer with strong Design System experience to join our Belfast-based client for a 3-month contract. This UX / Product Designer should have a strong Design Systems focus, as you will be building out the Design Systems for the business.

• Building and expanding on the design system and component library in Figma.
• Structuring and maintaining a scalable, consistent system used by designers and engineers across the business.
• Collaborating with the wider design and engineering teams to ensure components are both aesthetically refined and technically feasible.
• Evolving the system using an AI-native direction, working with internal experts to future-proof the approach.

• Proven experience building (not just using) design systems in Figma.
• Strong understanding of design structure, scalability, and visual consistency.
• A solid grasp of UX and product design principles, and how to make systems usable and beautiful.
• Familiarity with front-end code (HTML, CSS, React, etc.) - helpful but not essential.
• Interest in AI design tooling or working in AI-enhanced design workflows would be beneficial.
