Production Apprenticeship – Level 3 – Factual, Education and Digital – Belfast
BBC Northern Ireland invites applications for a fixed‑term apprenticeship to support the delivery of factual, educational and digital content for BBC Sounds, BBC Radio Ulster/Foyle and BBC Northern Ireland.
Contract Details- Fixed‑term apprenticeship, full‑time, 13 months

This apprenticeship offers an opportunity to launch a career in one of the world’s leading broadcasters. Apprentices will learn on the job, gain a recognised Level 3 Production Assistant qualification and work on a variety of productions ranging from live radio to digital content for BBC Sounds.
Key Responsibilities and Impact- Work closely with the Digital team to create content for BBC Sounds, BBC Radio Ulster/Foyle and BBC Northern Ireland.
- Develop and produce content across a range of outputs.
- Participate in all aspects of digital production from idea development to delivery on BBC and third‑party platforms.
- Contribute to Bitesize productions and support educational and corporate outreach activities in schools and community settings.
- Enthusiastic about creative production and new media.
- Experience or strong interest in how audiences engage with social media.
We are looking for candidates who bring potential and transferable strengths; we do not require specific qualifications prior to the apprenticeship.
Eligibility Criteria- 18 years old or older by the start of the apprenticeship (September 2026).
- Uninterrupted residence in the UK for the last 3 years before the start of the apprenticeship.
- Legally eligible to work full‑time in the UK for the entire duration of the apprenticeship.
- Not currently enrolled in another apprenticeship programme.
Additional eligibility for under‑19 applicants: must possess Maths and English GCSE at Grade 4/C or above (or equivalent) or achieve Functional Skills Level 2 before the start of the apprenticeship.
