Construction / Civil Engineering / Fit-Out The Opportunity An established and highly regarded construction contractor based in Newry is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join its commercial team. The company delivers high-quality projects across multiple sectors throughout Northern Ireland and Ireland and continues to secure a strong pipeline of work. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially astute Quantity Surveyor to take ownership of local projects and play a key role in cost management, profitability, and client satisfaction.
The Role Reporting to the Commercial Director, the Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for the full commercial lifecycle of projects, from tender stage through to final account.
Key Responsibilities Cost estimation and tender preparation Contract administration across live projects Cost control, forecasting, and commercial reporting Procurement and management of subcontractors Valuations, variations, and final accounts Risk management and value engineering Commercial negotiation and dispute resolution Supporting project teams to ensure commercial best practice
The Ideal Candidate Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline Chartered status (RICS or CIOB) desirable but not essential Minimum of 5 years experience in a Quantity Surveyor role Strong knowledge of construction economics and cost management Experience working with standard forms of contract, including JCT and NEC Proven experience managing the tender process Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills Strong analytical and communication abilities Full UK driving licence Whats on Offer Competitive salary, dependent on experience Attractive benefits package Long-term, secure role with a growing contractor Strong emphasis on training, mentoring, and career development Supportive and professional working environment
