Full-Time Childcare Manager – Wee Chicks
Wee Chicks is seeking an experienced and motivated Full-Time Childcare Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our childcare services, including After School Care (26 places), 2–3 year provision (12 places from September 2025), and creche services (ages 0–4, 16 places).
Main Purpose of the RoleThe post holder will have overall responsibility for the effective management of the facility, ensuring high-quality provision, compliance with regulations, and the safety, wellbeing and development of all children.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the day-to-day running of the childcare facility
- Ensure the protection, safety and wellbeing of children at all times
- Ensure services operate in line with legal, regulatory and organisational requirements
- Lead, manage and support staff, including supervision, appraisals, training and return-to-work meetings
- Ensure appropriate staffing levels and ratios at all times
- Support recruitment, selection and induction of staff
- Manage rotas, registers, income collection and petty cash
- Maintain accurate records and complete required administration and reports
- Work in partnership with parents, carers and external agencies
- Promote equality, inclusion and a child-centred environment

- Maintain strict confidentiality in line with GDPR
- QCF Level 5 in Leadership for Children’s Care, Learning & Development (or working towards), or relevant degree
- Minimum 1 year’s childcare management experience
- Minimum 3 years’ childcare experience
- Statutory training up to date
- Full driving licence and access to own transport
- Strong organisational and ICT skills
- Flexible, proactive and able to lead as part of a team
