ABOUT THE JOB

Fundamentally, this job involves taking overall responsibility for eliciting, understanding and translating requirements and mapping them to the Microsoft Business Application technologies we use to deliver them. We’re not looking for somebody to create a large requirement document and throw it over the fence to our developers to struggle with. We’re not looking for someone who is unwilling to learn new low-code / no-code Microsoft technologies.

Our Team consists of a diverse group of consultants, who have a wide range of experience in business, functional, finance, utilities, health care, telecoms, commercial and Health at a range of levels from graduates BA to Senior Principal BA. All of our BAs benefit from Codec’s partnership with the International Institute of Business Analysis, becoming accredited and leveraging IIBA best practices to help guide our standards.

As a senior business analyst at Codec, you’ll join the team, and most importantly - be made feel part of the team, from day one.

In broad terms you will be responsible for

• Rapid prototyping client requirements so that you realise value fast
• Driving the business towards early design decisions through entity modelling
• Assisting our customers in mapping high level business requirements to low level functional requirements and in identifying issues and opportunities for improvement
• Challenging assumptions
• Identifying risk and providing solutions
• Influencing stake holders both internally and with clients
• Ensuring requirements demonstrate business value
• Performing ‘Fit Gap’ analysis as part of process design exercises
• Mapping ‘As Is’ and ‘To Be’ processes
• Play a part in solution envisioning
• Play a part in the presales process
• Working with Solution and Enterprise Architects, Business owners, and Business Analyst Teams to understand fully our customers requirements and document accordingly.
• Leading client workshops to scope and define projects
• Prioritise and execute tasks for each project
• Modelling, POC’s and both lo-fi and hi-fi wire frames
• Leading User first training programmes, designed by you
• Liaising with client business owners, business analysts and development teams to confirm requirements in the context of the platform, software or tools chosen to deliver.
• The end-to-end requirements management process in Azure Dev Ops
• Playing a part in test cycles to support the QA testers and business users when resolving issues and bugs
• Ensure requirements traceability at each stage.
• Managing and measure solution benefits mapped to business cases
• Ensuring systems and changes are smoothly transitioned into operation including, supporting documentation and required user training
• Managing the scope of your work - knowing how to control scope creep

Ideally, you’ll have worked within a consultancy, or people services organisation, delivering Microsoft business applications projects and understand the needs of these organisations. You’ll have worked under pressure and to tight deadlines in the past, we won’t tell you that there wont be pressure and deadlines, but with us, you are supported by a community of BAs and tech consultants that are there to help.
