You will be instrumental in helping the BBC to act strategically to get the best for audiences, and for the BBC Group as a whole, from our partners. You will be expected to help manage internal and external stakeholder relationships on behalf of the BBC Group, and generate new business development opportunities, supporting the senior manager who leads this area.

Why

Join the Team

The CRBA Commercial Development & Partnerships team brings together expertise in commercial, rights, and business affairs to support the BBC’s editorial and strategic goals. In this role, you’ll work with passionate professionals who value curiosity, integrity, and innovation. You’ll engage with senior stakeholders across the BBC and externally, helping shape partnerships and business development deals that bring value to audiences and support the BBC’s mission to inform, educate, and entertain with a distinctly British perspective

Your

As a Commercial & Business Development Manager your key responsibilities will include:

To analyse opportunities, using market intelligence and other data and insights to advise on commerciality and group-wide impact, and to help to shape those proposals to achieve maximum benefit for the BBC Group.
  • Negotiation and deal-making:
To support senior managers in developing approaches to be deployed in key negotiations and, working with legal and other parts of the BBC, to deliver deals with partners which meet the BBC’s objectives.
  • Stakeholder management:
To positively represent the BBC with authority, credibility, tact and diplomacy, and proactively foster collaborative, creative and commercial relationships at senior level – both with external partners and internally across the BBC Group (including BBC Studios).
  • Compliance:
To ensure that standards and frameworks are adhered to and translated into compliant individual deals within a coherent pan-BBC approach. To ensure all commercial activity is consistent with BBC Fair Trading policy and regulatory requirements.
