Purchasing Assistant 6-Month Contract £25,000 - £30,000 Are you highly organised, proactive, and ready to make an impact in a fast-paced manufacturing environment? Were looking for a Purchasing Assistant to join a leading global manufacturer on a 6-month contract . This is a fantastic opportunity to support a dynamic supply chain team and ensure production runs smoothly. What youll be doing:
Work closely with Engineering Buyers and the Supply Chain Manager to keep assembly lines moving without delays. Manage the Kanban system daily and chase suppliers to prevent shortages. Operate the fax ban system, ensuring timely communication with suppliers. Monitor and update overdue delivery reports, escalating issues that could impact production. Assist with raising purchase orders, subcontract orders, and miscellaneous requests.

Collaborate with Quality Engineers to resolve material return orders within KPI targets. Take ownership of purchasing administration and suggest process improvements to boost efficiency and reduce costs. What were looking for:
Strong communication skills and the ability to engage confidently with suppliers and internal teams. Excellent organisational and administrative abilities with a keen eye for detail. A sense of urgency and assertiveness to keep things on track. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
