Accounts Technician

Hayward Hawk is delighted to be working with an accountancy firm based in greater Belfast who are seeking an Accounts Technician to join their busy finance team coming from a practice background.

What Youll Do :
Preparation of accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and small companies Management of bookkeeping, including processing sales and purchase invoices, reconciliations, and bank statements Preparing and submitting VAT returns and other statutory filings Assisting with payroll processing and related compliance tasks Maintaining accurate client records and files, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements Liaising with clients to gather information and respond to queries Supporting senior accountants and managers with audits, year-end work, and other client engagements Participating in internal projects and continuous process improvement initiatives What Youll Need:
Accounting Technician qualification or working towards 1-3 years experience in an accountancy practice preferred Strong understanding of bookkeeping, accounts preparation, and compliance requirements Proficiency in accounting software Excellent MS Excel skills Strong attention to detail and accuracy Good organisational and time management skills, able to prioritise workload effectively Excellent communication skills, with a professional approach to client interactions Ability to work independently and as part of a team What Youll Get:
