Downey Osborne is looking for a Accounting Manager to join a leading business advisory setting. This is a hands-on role where youll lead complex accounting work across a wide range of portfolios, with autonomy, variety, and the opportunity to shape junior colleagues development.

(UK GAAP/US GAAP/ IFRS) About Your Role Always Lead preparation and review of management accounts and detailed financial statements across multiple portfolios Provide meaningful insight and variance analysis to guide decision-making Ensure accounting compliance, financial controls, and reporting standards are consistently applied Mentor and support junior colleagues, acting as a senior presence across assignments Often Oversee day-to-day bookkeeping, reconciliations, and client-focused accounting tasks Participate in temporary assignments or secondments as required Contribute to process improvement, technology adoption, and risk management initiatives Maintain budgets, forecasts, and financial models Liaise with internal and external stakeholders as needed Occasionally Assist with special projects, operational initiatives, or system rollouts Advise on proposals, accounting compliance, or workflow enhancements Support team development and resourcing decisions Never Lose sight of the story behind the numbers Never challenge a spreadsheet to a staring contest.
