We are seeking an Accounts Payable Team Leader who will be responsible for the supervision of accounts payable team. You will be responsible for ensuring an efficient month end close and subsequent reporting. You will also act as an escalation point for all accounts and ensuring accurate processing leading to payment of suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

DELIVERY

  • Supervision of accounts payable team
  • Match invoices when received to appropriate Goods Received Note or Order, verifying quantities received and the pricing is in accordance with the order value
  • Posting invoices for different entities and currency
  • Month end processes including timely close of Purchase Ledger
  • Monthly reporting including KPI’s, GRNI and Aged creditors
  • Reconcile Suppliers Statements to the Purchase Ledger
  • Making payments, including part payments and deposits via BACS in accordance with terms & conditions
  • Liaising and dealing with creditors regarding payments and queries
  • Governance around setting up of new supplier accounts and maintaining existing account details
  • Support the implementation of system and processes changes
  • Any other ad hoc duties where required.

BUSINESS INSIGHT

  • Providing information and insight on key areas including creditors and spend against budget
  • Working with other members of the finance team to understand workflows and cost drivers and help deliver timely information.
  • Working closely with the Accounts Payable team to provide any updates.

  • Management of staffing levels and workload within the Accounts Payable team
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with people at all levels, ensuring regular communication with Managers
  • Maintain good relationships with all colleagues and foster a good team spirit within Accounting Dept
  • Maintain good relationships with external suppliers and customers at all times
Are you right for us?

Our Accounts Payable Team Leader will have/be:

  • 4+ years’ experience within accounts payable function
  • Experience of managing time effectively
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Computer-literate, being fully conversant with MS Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Able to work independently as well as within a team environment
  • Able to operate confidently and communicate effectively at all levels, both verbally and in a written form
  • Professional in approach, and able to lead by example, acting with tact and diplomacy
  • Good organisational skills
  • Experience of managing a team
  • Ability to process invoices in foreign currency
  • Experience of processing inventory invoices
  • Experience of Sage desired
