Registered Nurse (RN) - School Setting - Belfast, ME (Contract)

A school-based nursing role is available for a dedicated RN to provide essential care and support to a high school student in Belfast, Maine. This contract position focuses on delivering individualized nursing services in a school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide one-on-one nursing care to a male high school student with epilepsy, mobility challenges, and dysphagia
• Assist with toileting and personal care needs as required
• Support safe transportation by accompanying the student on the school bus
• Monitor and respond to health-related needs throughout the school day
• Collaborate with school staff to ensure a safe and supportive environment
• Complete nursing assignments on days when the student is absent to maintain ongoing healthcare management

Qualifications:

• Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) with current credentials and experience in school nursing preferred
• Ability and willingness to provide direct care including toileting assistance
• Experience working with students who have complex medical needs such as epilepsy and mobility impairments
• Ability to ride the bus with the student and provide care in that setting
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with educators and family members
• Flexibility to handle duties related to student absenteeism with proactive care assignments
