The purpose of this position is to provide advanced administration, maintenance, and support for the Ellucian Banner ERP ecosystem, including overseeing system updates, access controls, database environments, and integrated third‑party applications. The role ensures the stability and optimization of the institution’s ERP architecture by managing Linux‑based Tomcat servers, web platforms, and connected systems while leading response efforts during system outages and ensuring reliable backup and recovery of all ERP/SIS applications.
It further supports data planning through administration of on‑premise Oracle databases, execution of data‑warehousing strategies, performance tuning, and development, rehearsal, and refinement of disaster‑recovery procedures. Additionally, the position supervises team operations by organizing workloads, evaluating performance, participating in hiring and disciplinary processes, and documenting all ERP/SIS environments, processes, and procedures.
This is a full‑time, exempt staff position.
Employees of Harford Community College, including instructors for online and virtual courses, must be residents of Maryland or the contiguous states of Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia or the District of Columbia; non‑residents are expected to relocate to meet this requirement.

Required EducationAssociate’s degree
Required Experience- Minimum of three years of Oracle database administration experience
- Minimum of three years of experience administering an ERP/SIS
- Minimum one year of supervisory experience
- Oracle Database Administration including RMAN
- Support and maintenance of a higher education ERP/SIS
- Linux Administration
- Bash scripting
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to work weekend and evening hours
- Ability to quickly and accurately troubleshoot database issues and offer effective solutions
- Experience working with technical and non‑technical staff at all organization levels
- Experience with managing Ellucian Banner ERP/SIS
- Experience installing an Ellucian Banner 9 and related products
- Knowledge of Banner Document Management System
- Knowledge of Ellucian Ethos Platform and integrations
- Experience using PL/SQL
- Experience working with Tomcat
- Experience in Disaster Recovery planning
- Tuning and optimizing database environments
- Ability to manage multiple complex and time‑sensitive projects simultaneously
- Excellent communication skills
