A Day In The Life Of a CT Technologist
  • Promote and demonstrate the Solis Way.
  • Perform x‑ray and CT procedures as prescribed by a physician.
  • Act as the primary contact for the Physician Administrator for clinical and other relevant issues.
  • Communicate with the Administrator through the respective Chief/Senior Technologist and/or Manager.
  • Instruct patients on procedure requirements; may prepare and administer barium.
  • Recognize reactions to contrast media and intervene with CPR as necessary.
  • Ensure all consent forms are signed before examinations.
  • Accurately process exam‑related information including charge slips and direct computer entry.
  • Assist with clerical and reception operations, patient records, and files.
  • Participate in quality assurance monitoring and recording.
  • Reduce radiation exposure to a minimum by using proper technical factors, collimation, and shielding.
  • Adhere to all corporate policies and procedures.
  • Report equipment and maintenance problems; perform preventative/corrective maintenance as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Here Is What You Will Need
  • High school graduation or equivalent; completion of an accredited imaging technology program.
  • Registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (CT).
  • Ability to lift and move patients.
  • Certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation within one year of employment; renewal annually.
  • Licensed technologist in Maryland or Virginia (depending on office).
