Instructional Technology Support Specialist

Purpose:
Provides input in the development of District-wide and campus-level programs that enable students to use technology for their personal growth and learning. Investigates and disseminates information on best practices for technology integration, sources of information on trends, research and applications related to technology use in the school program, with input and guidance from the Directory of Technology.
Qualifications:Education/Certification: Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary or Secondary education
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent studies, preferred
Technology industry Relevant Certification, preferred
Special Knowledge/
Skills:
Knowledge of troubleshooting and operation of computer hardware and common software applications such as Microsoft Office
Knowledge of current literature, trends and developments in the field of instructional technology.
Knowledge of computer applications development and implementation
Knowledge of the appropriate uses of technology for instruction in various subject areas.
Knowledge of computer technology, multiple hardware platforms, network architecture and cabling techniques.
Knowledge of multimedia, telecommunications, and popular software packages used for word processing, spreadsheet and database applications.
Ability to work with minimal supervision and organize assigned responsibilities.
Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to analyze, comprehend and implement instructional technology methodology based on research and data.
Experience: Two years of classroom teaching or equivalent experience.
One year of working as an Instructional Technology Support Specialist in a school district or equivalent experience.
