Arkansas State University–Beebe, a two-year residential community college within the Arkansas State University System, invites applications for a full‑time, promotion‑eligible Instructor or Assistant Professor of Band/Small Ensemble Music to begin August 2026. This 9‑month faculty position requires excellence in instrumental conducting and a commitment to developing and directing a small instrumental ensemble with annual public performances. The successful candidate will also teach Band, Music Appreciation and other courses in the Fine Arts Department as qualified, and provide musical support and accompaniment for the Theatre program while collaborating with other Fine Arts areas.

• Direct a small concert band or chamber wind ensemble and prepare public performances.
• Develop and teach courses.
• Teach face‑to‑face, hybrid, and online courses as needed.
• Recruit and retain students to support the ensemble and broader music program.
• Advise students across Arts and Humanities disciplines.
• Assist with curriculum development and program review.
• Participate in course and program assessment activities.
• Collaborate with other programs in the Fine Arts Department and the Division of Arts and Humanities on classes, accompaniment, recruitment, and program development.
• Participate in events and programs across campus to facilitate campus life and growth.
• Serve on institutional committees.

Master’s degree in Music with an emphasis on bands or a closely related field. Strong computer and instructional technology skills.

One to three years of teaching experience in secondary or post‑secondary settings. Ability and interest in developing and teaching courses in entertainment industry and music technology areas—such as recording, sound mixing, stage lighting, and live sound production—to support program growth and expand student career pathways.

This position will be subject to a pre‑employment criminal, sex‑offender registry background check. In some cases, an additional financial/credit history background check may be required. Convictions that have been sealed or legally eradicated and misdemeanor convictions for which probation was completed and the case was dismissed will be excluded.
