Job Title:

Assistant Director of Teaching and Learning/TCC

Reports To:

WDMESC Director Days:240

Primary

Purpose:

To assist the Director in providing exemplary curricular and instructional services to member districts and maintain and facilitate the Wilbur

D. Mills Education Service Cooperative (WDMESC) Teacher Center Committee and all assigned job alike groups.

Special Knowledge/

Skills:

* Ability to manage budget and personnel

* Ability to interpret law, policy, procedures, and data

* Advanced presentation and technology skills

* Advance knowledge of content and pedagogy in various content areas

* Exceptional organizational, communication, public relations and interpersonal skills

* Working knowledge of the grants management system

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Exercise general supervision and evaluation over:

* Professional Development Center Administrative Assistant

* School Support Specialist

* Content Specialists

* Other cooperative employees as assigned
Maintain authority over WDMESC Teacher Center, its employees and ESC professional development programs.
Be accountable to the WDMESC Director and board of directors

Major

Duties and Responsibilities:

* Provide Beginning Principal Mentoring, including coaching, professional learning, and ongoing support to strengthen school culture and instructional leadership

* Deliver targeted support for schools with C/D/F Letter Grades

* Coordinate ArAPP Training for Member Districts

* Provide TESS/LEADS Credentialing training to member districts

* Develop and conduct professional development, staff meetings, local training, and state/national conferences to maintain a high level of professionalism or credentials

* Recommend to the Director any policy and functions for carrying out the goals and objectives of the cooperative as it pertains to Curriculum and Instruction

* Recommend to the Director any function that would improve the operation and maintenance of the cooperative relating to curriculum and instruction

* Keep the Director and the board of Directors informed on the progress and conditions of programs and/or services under his/her immediate charge

* Assess and respond to district needs relating to Curriculum and Instruction

* Assist the Director in the evaluation and improvement of internal processes and procedures

* Attend monthly meetings with the Division of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE)

* Attend and assist with Board Meetings and the summer Board Work Session

* Assist the Director with planning, conducting and evaluating meetings, workshops and professional development activities

* Keep abreast of current educational trends and practices

* Update monthly job-alike meetings for Federal Coordinators, Deputy Superintendents/Curriculum Coordinators, Building Level --
- -Leaders and LEA Supervisors, as well as other job-alike groups as assigned and needed.

* Plan, schedule and facilitate the Teacher Center Committee in accordance with Arkansas statutes, rules, and regulations for --Education Service Cooperatives

* Review and implement new and promising programs to enhance the curriculum and training of member school districts

* Create, monitor and update all aspects of the Grants Management System related to content specialists and any new state and federal grants that may arise (ex. Professional Learning, HQIM, etc…)

* Perform other duties assigned by the Director and/or member district Board of Directors.

* Respond to all email, phone calls and texts from all district personnel within a 24-hour period

Terms of Employment: 240 day contract
