Job Description

Arkansas State University-Beebe is seeking to compile a pool of qualified applicants for a Certified Veterinary Technician/Instructor who are interested in future part-time teaching opportunities in its Veterinary Technology Program. This is a part-time adjunct instructor position that reports directly to the Division Chair of Math and Science and the Director of the Vet Tech Program.
The duties shall include delivery of appropriate coursework related to the students’ success in completion of the Veterinary Technician National Examination (VTNE). In addition to the support of the Veterinary Technology Program, curriculum development, and student learning outcomes in accordance with AVMA accreditation standards, this position may also be responsible for providing some laboratory support to the program Veterinarian during laboratory protocols.

This position shall have joint responsibility for the oversight of student learning to prepare graduates who will be capable of performing a wide variety of professional roles as an accredited CVT and for the overall program accreditation by CVTEA standards.

Required Qualifications

Educational requirements include a CVT from an accredited institution of higher education, and required licensure. A Bachelor’s degree is preferred, but not required. General experience working with veterinary technicians and supervisory experience in planning, organizing, and developing student curriculum is preferred. Experience in IACUC standards and protocol is a plus. This position requires bending, some exposure to unpleasant odors, lifting up to 50 lbs.,

standing or working for long periods of time. Limited travel is anticipated. A minimum of three years experience in a clinical setting is required. A combination of education or experience may be substituted.
