Engineer, Maintenance Technician ​/ Mechanic

The Engineer performs general maintenance work to ensure hotel physical plant quality and safety standards are achieved and maintained. The Engineer takes care of the building, equipment and grounds of the hotel. This position will perform maintenance and repairs, and preventative maintenance, to all areas of the hotel.

• Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repair on mechanical equipment.
• Identify and troubleshoot problems, make repairs such as replacing bearings and belts, checking proper alignment, repairing fan coil units, replacing piping and fittings, and maintaining appropriate records of preventive maintenance and repairs.
• Respond to requests and make the necessary repairs in a timely and courteous manner.
• Assist with requests to shut down water, steam and gas supplies.
• Change filters on HVAC and fan coil units.
• Have knowledge of mechanical systems and equipment.
• Ability to understand guests’ service needs & requests.
• Acknowledge guests’ requests in a polite manner.
• Work all shifts as needed, including holidays, weekends, vacation/sick relief, and during hurricanes.
• Mechanical skills.
• Work with computerized energy management systems.
• Good communication skills and ability to have good judgment.
