HGV Workshop Supervisor – Bedford – Fleet Maintenance – £24.27ph

We are recruiting for an experienced HGV Workshop Supervisor to join a busy commercial vehicle fleet workshop in Bedford. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled HGV Technician / Senior HGV Mechanic / Workshop Controller looking to step into or continue in a supervisory position within a professional fleet environment.
This role is ideal for candidates with previous experience in an HGV fleet company, transport operator, logistics company or main dealer HGV workshop.

Key Responsibilities – HGV Workshop Supervisor
Supervision of HGV Technicians and HGV Mechanics
Day-to-day workshop management within a commercial vehicle fleet
Allocation of jobs, workflow control and workshop planning
Ensure all HGV servicing, maintenance and repairs meet DVSA standards
Oversee PMI inspections, MOT preparation, defect rectification and diagnostics
Maintain compliance with Operator Licence regulations and fleet compliance standards
Support breakdown management and reduce vehicle downtime
Ensure health & safety compliance within the HGV workshop
Monitor productivity, efficiency, labour hours and KPI performance

Requirements – HGV Workshop Supervisor
Proven experience as a HGV Workshop Supervisor / Senior HGV Technician / HGV Chargehand / Workshop Controller
Background in a fleet maintenance environment or HGV main dealer
Strong technical knowledge of HGV servicing, diagnostics, inspections and repairs
Experience managing technicians and workshop productivity
Good understanding of DVSA regulations, fleet compliance and PMI schedules

Desirable Skills &

Qualifications:

IRTEC Licence (preferred)
Class 1 (C+E) or Class 2 (C) HGV Licence

Experience with fleet management systems and workshop planning software
