Are you an experienced Production Supervisor looking for an exciting opportunity to lead a team and drive operational success. We are currently seeking a
** Late Shift Senior Production Supervisor
** to join our client's growing team in Bedford. In this pivotal role, you will report directly to the Production Manager and be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the late shift while executing the production plan as intended.

The Role:

- Oversee production processes to ensure compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
- Complete all necessary documentation for regulatory compliance accurately and promptly.
- Communicate and promote preferred occupational health and safety practices to your production team.
- Establish clear expectations for team members and regularly evaluate their performance.
- Implement emergency response procedures effectively during any emergencies.
- Conduct regular checks on machinery and operational checkpoints to ensure safe and efficient workflows.
- Compile detailed reports on production metrics and provide timely updates to management.
- Manage repair or replacement of any faulty production equipment as needed.
- Ensure efficient and correct usage of all resources and assets within the factory.

Day to Day:
- Act as the primary contact for all production-related issues.
- Collaborate closely with the Fabrication department, Assembly area, Goods-In, and Dispatch teams.
- Enforce Health and Safety best practices throughout the shift.
- Maintain daily communication with the second supervisor on the shift.
- Provide coverage for the Production Manager in their absence as required.
- Uphold and enforce company policies and procedures.
- Update and maintain the production staff skills matrix.
- Utilise company tools to promote operational excellence.
- Lead daily 5-minute cell meetings to address team priorities.
- Report any issues affecting production plans to the Production Manager.
- Conduct daily handovers with the Early Shift Supervisor to ensure continuity.
- Oversee absence management, including return-to-work meetings and reviews.
- Support staff training and refreshers in partnership with the training coordinator.
- Foster staff development and career progression opportunities.
- Conduct employee review and probation meetings.
- Participate in recruitment and selection processes for floor colleagues.
- Manage staffing hours and overtime as necessary.

What you'll need:

Proven experience in a supervisory role within a manufacturing or production environment.
Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations.
Excellent leadership and team management skills.
Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organisation.

Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Proficient in documentation and report compilation.
