Head of Asset Management

We have an exciting opportunity for a Head of Asset Management based in Bedford for one of our clients on a Full time 6 month FTC basis.

Summary of the Head of Asset Management role

Salary: £370-£400 per day
Location: Bedford
Type of Contract: 6 month FTC
Hours: Monday Friday 37 hour working week

Responsibilities of the Head of Asset Management

• Lead the Service s Asset Management Strategy, including estates, fleet, equipment, workshops, stores and all related support services
• Provide specialist guidance to the Assistant Chief Officer, senior leadership team, and Authority members.
• Develop asset policies, governance frameworks and performance standards
• Act as the Asset Management representative at board meetings and regional or national working groups.
• Ensure full compliance with all relevant health and safety legislation, fire safety, roadworthiness requirements, PPE standards, and environmental regulations.
• Lead capital development projects
• Ensure assets are integrated into the Community Risk Plan
• Oversee fleet lifecycle planning, procurement, engineering standards and legal compliance.
• Lead capital and revenue budgets
• Oversee procurement in line with public sector regulations and national/regional frameworks.

Requirements for a successful Head of Asset Management

• Previous experience in a comparable asset management leadership role.
• A valid driving licence and access to a personal vehicle.
• Subject to DBS
• Ability to travel flexibly across Bedfordshire as required.
• Strong and proven leadership capabilities.
• Working knowledge of Health and Safety legislation
