Ready to lead with purpose? Join the Personal Wellbeing Service as part of the CRS Probation system and make a tangible difference to the lives of adult male prison leavers and individuals on community orders.
This is a full‑time (35 hours per week) position working across the Bedfordshire region as part of a multi‑disciplinary team. As Team Leader, you’ll guide practitioners delivering tailored interventions across Family and Significant Others, Lifestyle and Associates, Emotional Wellbeing, and Social Inclusion, helping people build safer, more stable futures.
Leadership, quality and collaboration sit at the heart of this role, alongside clear accountability for performance, governance and service excellence.
What You’ll Be Doing- Lead, motivate and develop a team of practitioners delivering personal wellbeing interventions
- Allocate and oversee caseloads, including managing a small number of complex cases
- Drive performance against KPIs set by Forward Trust and Commissioners
- Ensure interventions meet contractual, audit and quality standards
- Conduct supervision, observed practice sessions, file checks and performance reviews
- Manage service rotas, chair meetings and deputise for the Service Manager when required
- Maintain strong working relationships with Probation Delivery Units and partner agencies
- Oversee accurate data entry and reporting via the Refer and Monitor system
- Monitor risk, safeguarding, engagement and compliance, escalating concerns appropriately
- Lead audits, governance processes and continuous service improvement initiatives
- Strong leadership experience within probation, criminal justice or wellbeing services
- Experience managing performance targets and quality standards
- Confidence handling complex cases and risk management
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and partnership skills
- Organised, resilient, and comfortable working autonomously

All probation‑based roles are subject to enhanced DBS checks and HMPPS security vetting. These checks can take up to 6–16 weeks to complete. Any offer of employment will be conditional upon the successful completion of both checks.
