Job Description

On behalf of one of our highly successful automotive clients, we are recruiting a strategic and hands‑on Finance Manager. This is a pivotal senior role designed to lead the finance function, driving accuracy, commercial insight, and continuous improvement across the business.

As a key member of the Senior Management Team, you will bridge the gap between finance, operations, and ownership. You will move the department from a "reactive processing" function to a "proactive business partner," ensuring the business remains profitable, stable, and highly efficient.

• Leadership:
  Manage and mentor a Finance Assistant, setting clear expectations, holding 1:1s, and fostering a culture of accountability.
• Financial Control:
  Maintain balance sheet integrity, oversee VAT submissions, and lead reviews of stock, WIP, and PO/PI exceptions.
• Cashflow & Payments:
  Maintain forward‑looking forecasts and authorise supplier payment runs via Pinewood, ensuring decisions align with operational needs.
• Credit Control:
  Manage high‑level escalations, negotiate payment plans, and monitor aged debt KPIs.
• Month‑End Reporting:
  Prepare full management account packs (P&L with variance analysis, Balance Sheet, Cashflow) and present insights directly to the owners.
• Process Innovation:
  Lead the "weekly finance huddle," maintain error logs, and champion the use of Automation and AI within Pinewood.

• Automotive Expert:
  Previous experience within an automotive dealership environment is essential.
• System Savvy:
  Confident using Pinewood DMS or similar dealership systems.
• Strong Leader:
  Ability to coach a team while managing high‑level financial strategy.
• Process Driven: A passion for continuous improvement and up‑to‑date documentation.
