Financial Assistant

I'm working with a commercially focused, growing business within a larger group looking to appoint a Finance Assistant to support the wider finance function and operational teams.

This role sits within a collaborative finance team and offers exposure beyond traditional finance processing, providing the opportunity to work closely with stakeholders across the business and contribute to decision-making processes.

Ideal for someone looking to build strong foundational finance experience while gaining broader commercial insight.

• Supporting month-end processes including accruals, prepayments and reconciliations
• Assisting with management accounts preparation and variance analysis
• Processing invoices, expenses and maintaining accurate financial records
• Producing regular financial reports for internal stakeholders
• Supporting budgeting and forecasting activities
• Working with non-finance teams to understand costs and performance drivers
• Assisting departmental managers with financial queries and reporting needs
• Identifying opportunities to improve processes and reporting efficiency

• Previous experience in a finance or accounts role
• Studying towards (or interested in studying) AAT / ACCA / CIMA
• Strong Excel skills and attention to detail
• Comfortable communicating with stakeholders outside of finance
• Curious mindset with an interest in understanding the “why” behind the numbers
• Able to balance transactional responsibilities with analytical tasks
