Finance Controller Bedford Based ( occasional travel to Northampton & Milton Keynes) Salary: £60,000

Hours:

Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week Our client is a reputable family-run business with a dedicated and loyal customer base across Bedford, Milton Keynes, Wellingborough, and Northampton. They pride themselves on our community-focused approach and are looking for a driven Finance Controller to join our team. The Finance Controller will be responsible for overseeing the operations and processes of the finance department.

This role involves providing key financial information to support Senior Management and driving improvements in financial processes and procedures in alignment with best practices. What youll be doing:
Prepare monthly financial statements, including Profit & Loss (P&L), balance sheet reconciliations, cash flows, and supporting commentaries. Oversee departmental budgets and ensure adherence to financial targets. Assist in company-wide budget planning and forecasting activities. Prepare comprehensive financial reports that track financial data, invoicing, and payroll, while seeking out methods to minimize risk. Build and maintain effective relationships with service providers and other stakeholders.

Analyse financial performance and provide insights to support strategic decision-making. Implement changes to enhance financial processes and improve efficiency within the department. What you need:
Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent). Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, with a focus on finance control. Previous experience in a Finance Controller role or similar position is essential. Strong data analysis and reporting skills, with the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the capability to work collaboratively with various departments.
