Credit Controller – Bedford (Office Based) | Up to £28,000 + Bonus

Are you an organised, proactive Credit Controller who enjoys building strong relationships and keeping cashflow on track?

We’re supporting a growing business in Bedford that’s strengthening its Finance team and looking for a confident, motivated Credit Controller to join them.

This is a great opportunity to step into a busy, friendly, fast-moving finance environment where you can take ownership of your ledger and really make an impact.

As a key part of the Credit Control team, you will be responsible for:

• Proactively chasing outstanding debt and ensuring payments are collected to terms
• Allocating cash accurately against invoices
• Managing Sage Pay card payments
• Supporting order authorisation and resolving account queries

• Producing and distributing aged debt reports
• Highlighting potential debt issues early and working with sales teams to resolve them
• Providing clear, professional communication to internal and external stakeholders

• Helping improve processes as the business grows
• Challenging existing ways of working and suggesting smarter, more efficient solutions
• Supporting a positive, collaborative customer service-focused culture
• Assisting with ad‑hoc finance tasks as needed

• Previous Credit Control experience (essential)
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• Confident communicator with a proactive, problem‑solving mindset
• Comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment
• Good exposure to accounting processes (qualification not required)
• Reliable, methodical, and able to build rapport with customers and colleagues

• Salary up to £28,000
