Senior Controls Systems Engineer

Ultra precision manufacturer designing, building and supplying multiaxis cnc machine tools for emerging markets.

This is a full-time on-site role for a Senior Controls Systems Engineer, located in Cranfield. The Senior Controls Systems Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing control systems for precision engineering applications. Daily tasks include programming, testing and troubleshooting, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring system functionality meets performance standards and project requirements. The role may also involve technical documentation and support for existing systems and processes.

• Proficiency in control systems design and implementation, including PLC programming and embedded system development
• Experience with automation systems, robotics, and motion control
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills for system diagnostics and optimization
• Familiarity with CAD software, electrical schematics, and mechanical systems
• Knowledge of industry standards, safety protocols, and compliance regulations related to control systems
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and project management skills
• Ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic work environment
• Relevant degree in Engineering (e.g., Electrical, Mechatronics, or Controls Engineering) or equivalent experience
• Experience in precision engineering or advanced manufacturing will be an advantage
