Head of Quality and Product Reliability

Job Summary

We are looking for a multi-skilled Head of Quality and Product Reliability to oversee the quality of our products and services and manage all returned units and equipment.

Andersen EV Plc is the UK leader in the design, development, manufacture, sale and distribution of prestigious, smart‑enabled domestic and workplace charging points for electric vehicles. We partner with brands such as Jaguar Land‑Rover, Porsche, Renault, Geely, Octopus Energy and OVO.

• Act as an integral member of the Engineering Team, reporting to the Engineering Director.
• Lead quality assurance in all development projects to guarantee product/service readiness for commercial release.
• Inspect and investigate returned units and parts, ensuring correct documentation and reporting errors in the returns process.
• Use the laboratory to pinpoint faults and root causes of hardware, firmware and software issues.
• Recommend and drive removal of design or component defects and coordinate with design engineers for firmware/software fixes.
• Supervise an assistant responsible for booking returns, confirming fault categories and initial testing.
• Collaborate with senior management to define staff training and new processes while maintaining cost‑effective overheads.

• Minimum five years of quality assurance experience with management responsibilities, preferably in a small to medium sized enterprise producing IoT/electronic products.
• Degree level education in electronic/electrical engineering; understanding of mechanical engineering.
• Proficient in fault finding and resolution for electronic and IoT products.
• Experience distinguishing between hardware, firmware and software faults and reporting to design engineers.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 and quality requirements for a Business Management System is advantageous.

• Monday to Friday 09:00 to 17:30 with one hour for lunch
