Job Title: 1:1 Tutor – English & Maths (Bedford Area)
Location: Bedford and surrounding areas – sessions held in students’ homes or local libraries
Hours: Part-time / Flexible
Pay: Competitive hourly rate (£25–£30 per hour), paid weekly through PAYE
About the RoleTP Tutors is seeking passionate and committed educators in the Bedford area who want to make a real difference in children’s lives. You will work closely with students on a 1:1 basis, delivering high-quality sessions in English and Maths to help them achieve academic goals, improve engagement, and boost confidence. Many students receive support outside of mainstream school settings, providing a rewarding opportunity to create meaningful impact.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, deliver, and evaluate engaging 1:1 tutoring sessions in English and Maths.
- Support learners with SEND, SEMH, and additional needs using a child-centred approach.
- Implement effective behaviour strategies to keep students motivated and focused.
- Assess progress and provide constructive feedback to guide next steps.
- Professional teaching qualifications preferred (QTS or equivalent).
- Strong knowledge of English and Maths.
- Experience working with children or young people with additional needs.
- Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one – support provided).
- Flexible working hours to suit your schedule.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
