Overview

A well established and financially secure main contractor with more than 50 years of successful project delivery is seeking an Estimator to join their expanding pre construction team.

This role offers a clear route into a Pre Construction Manager position and the chance to take meaningful ownership within a respected and stable business.

The company delivers projects across healthcare, MOD, commercial and education sectors, covering both new build and refurbishment schemes ranging from 100k to 12m. They are known for integrity, consistent margins, a low risk approach to work and extremely fast subcontractor payments within 7 to 14 days.

The Role

You will take responsibility for pricing tenders, preparing detailed cost plans and supporting all pre construction activity. Working alongside an experienced commercial team, you will have autonomy and a streamlined environment without unnecessary processes or delays.

Key responsibilities include

Reviewing and analysing tender packs
Preparing accurate estimates for new build and refurbishment projects
Liaising with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing
Preparing tender submissions and supporting bid presentations
Collaborating with commercial, design and operations teams
Managing multiple tenders and deadlines
Supporting improvements to pre construction processes as the team develops

The Ideal Candidate

Experience as an Estimator within a main contractor or general contracting environment
Strong understanding of construction methods, materials and pricing
Ability to produce accurate cost plans and analyse tender documentation
Confident dealing with subcontractors and building reliable supply chain relationships
Commercially aware, organised and proactive
Strong communication skills
Suitable for both Intermediate and Senior Estimators
