PRN Level III/per diem, Night Shift; 7 pm-7 am; minimum requirement: 6 shift/per 6-week schedule, 2 weekend shift/per 6-week schedule, 1 major/2 minor holiday requirement
NICU Department Highlights- Work environment:
The Siratt Women s Center at Texas Health Hurst Euless Bedford (HEB) Hospital has a part-time opportunity for an experienced NICU RN. - 16 bed NICU unit with an average of 200 deliveries a month
- Level III NICU
- Maternal Designation III
- Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma required; BSN preferred
- RN - Registered Nurse Upon Hire required
- BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required
- NRP - Essential Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 90 days of hire
- NRPA - Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation within 90 days of hire
- CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training within 90 days of hire
- 1-year experience as a clinical nurse required
- Current NICU experience strongly preferred
Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
- Assesses the patient
- Plans the care of the patient
- Intervenes as appropriate
- Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
- Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
- Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
- Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
