Nuclear Medicine Specialist – Heart & Vascular Specialist Clinic

Full‑time, days position.

• Location:
  
  1400 Hospital Parkway, Bedford, TX 76022
• Hours:
  
  40 hours weekly, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
• Travel: 25% to surrounding clinics (mileage reimbursement provided)

Technologist will need to learn protocols according to facility and will perform Nuclear Cardiology exams as well as PET/CT Cardiac stress exams.

• Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology or Nuclear Medicine (required) or Bachelor's Degree (preferred)
• CNMT Certification upon hire (required)
• 2 years radiology experience (preferred)
• Extensive knowledge of nuclear medicine concepts, practices, policies, procedures, standards, systems, and tools in a healthcare environment
• Knowledge of patient care aspects relative to Nuclear Medicine
• Knowledge of functionality, operation, and maintenance of nuclear medicine tools and equipment
• Ability to perform nuclear medicine procedures efficiently and effectively, ensuring equipment is calibrated properly and dosage is appropriate
• Strong work ethic and high level of professionalism

• Deliver care to patients using the Nuclear Medicine Specialist Process
• Operate and maintain quality control for all imaging equipment and radioactivity assaying devices
• Prepare radio‑pharmaceuticals for patient use, administer them, and perform nuclear medicine procedures
• Operate nuclear medicine computers to enhance diagnostic value of information obtained
• Follow internal protocols when processing computer studies for high‑quality film selection, display parameters, image intensity, and labeling techniques
• Maintain records and logs as required by department protocols and licensure; log patient dose, progress notes, and other data
• Schedule patients for nuclear medicine examinations and review patient charts for pertinent history
• Prepare, measure, and administer radiopharmaceuticals under physician direction and record isotope dosages per protocol
• Observe patients during procedures and report any abnormal activity
• Collect, prepare, and analyze biologic specimens and prepare data for interpretation
• Participate in accreditation process
• Follow radiation safety techniques when disposing radioactive materials
• Perform other duties as assigned
