Paramedic (EMT-P) Emergency Department — Fast-paced, high-volume Emergency Department seeking skilled Paramedics.
Work location:
Texas Health HEB, 1600 Hospital Parkway in Bedford, TX 76022.
Work hours:
PRN (as needed), Day Shift (7a to 7p). Weekend and holiday requirements. Great growth opportunity.

Responsibilities- Provides Safe Patient Care Under Physician Delegation: administers IV fluids (excluding controlled and RSI medications), IV antibiotics, all IV medications excluding controlled and RSI medications. ACLS drugs (including drips) with barcode medication verification (BMV) during administrations. ALL IM and oral medications excluding controlled drugs. Plans the care of the patient.
- Completes accurate documentation in the electronic health record.
- Provides consistent attention to airway, intake, elimination, sleep, rest, mobility and hygiene needs.
- Applies antiembolic stockings and sequential compression devices.
- Cervical collar management.
- External defibrillation.
- Nasal cannula or oxygen mask application.
- Oral airway insertion and removal.
- Ultrasound-guided peripheral IV access.
- Draw blood from ports.
- Other duties as assigned by RN.
- High School diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
- 3 months paramedic experience or completion of a paramedic internship; 1 year Paramedic experience in EMS or Fire Dept preferred.
- EMT-P - Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic required or LP - Licensed Paramedic.
- ACLS within 90 days of hire required.
- BCLS prior to providing independent patient care, maintained quarterly required.
- PALS within 90 days of hire required.
- CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training (ED Only) within 60 days of hire required.
- Delivery of high quality patient care through nursing education, nursing research and innovations in nursing practice.
