Provide legal support with respect to matters affecting the State National Companies group of companies, primarily in the areas of complex contract negotiating and drafting, general corporate matters, and insurance regulatory compliance. After 1-2 years tenure, this role will eventually support the international division of State National Companies from the DFW area.

Essential Functions:

* Negotiate, draft and review multi-party contracts involved in the business of reinsurance, usually with foreign counter parties.
* Draft and negotiate deal term sheets, and definitive transaction documents
* Interface with external customers on a daily basis, including frequently acting as the initial point of contact for various matters.
* Create and deliver presentations to key company executives, including the CEO
* Closely collaborate with internal customers and cross-functional teams to identify, address and communicate risks and to understand relevant business objectives.
* Manage process of getting new program contracts in place, including coordinating with various internal and external operational groups.
* Research issues of insurance regulation, and respond to inquiries from departments of insurance and senior executives.
* Litigation management in coordination with outside litigation counsel.
* Support special projects as needed, i.e., acquisitions, joint ventures, investments, etc.

Education and

Qualifications:

* Graduation from an accredited law school.
* Admission to the Texas bar preferred.
* Must be available to travel internationally.
