Information Technology Specialist AFLCMC​/IN

We are seeking an experienced Information Technology Specialist who will primarily support the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC)/IN at Hanscom AFB, MA.

• Perform COMSEC duties.
• Provide IT security business process improvements, enabling better services while realizing efficiencies.
• Install, maintain, audit, and support a secure MS Windows network environment and web/data application services.
• Maintain DoD and AF internet applications and protocols (IP, TCP, HTTP, HTTPS, FTP, SSL).
• Maintain file servers, firewalls, network access, security monitoring systems, and system documentation as required.
• Interface with local customers and provide IT-related support to quickly resolve problems.
• Analyze and troubleshoot system anomalies to ensure optimum equipment performance.
• Perform periodic maintenance, hardware upgrades and replacements, firmware updates, and system configuration changes.
• Perform scheduled backups; manage the data backup library including storage of tapes, disks and other media at customer locations and off-site facilities as required.
• Attend planning and requirements meetings with IT staff, program managers/analysts, and customers as required.
• Prepare systems for operational use and support operational tests and inspections.
• Provide technical guidance, technical leadership, mentoring, and quality assurance for AFLCMC/IN team members.
• Demonstrate knowledge of current and older AF operating systems and server hardware/software, including Windows Server 2000/2003/2007, Exchange Server 2003, and Windows OS administration.
• Apply knowledge of LAN, WAN, and data backup technologies, including COMSEC integration, to maintain operations.
• Work in a dynamic environment, interacting with DoD, military/civilian personnel, and industry partners.
• Assist with acquisition and sustainment of IT systems and equipment to support weapon systems, training content, and accessibility needs for hearing or sight-impaired users.
• Assist with security accreditation processes and related information technology certification requirements (NRA, NCO/WRM, ISPs, IA, network-centric, interoperability).
• Assist in standardizing file structures and seamless file sharing to support daily interactions with SIO, SSO, and staff.
• Advise on system security management plans, risk analyses, OPSEC plans, and other security documents identified in MIL-HDBK 1785, DODI 5000.02, and AF Supplement 1.

• Clearance: TS/SCI
• Master’s or Doctorate Degree in a related field with ten years of relevant experience (five in DoD) OR
• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field with 12 years of relevant experience (five in DoD)
• 15 years of directly related experience with appropriate certifications (eight in DoD)
• IA Technician Level Two within six months of hire
• Knowledge of JAFAN 6/0, DCID/JAFAN 6/3, DCID/JAFAN 6/9, and related security standards for C&A, with familiarity of security policy documents
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
