Ansible Government Solutions, LLC (Ansible) is recruiting Phlebotomists to support the Edith Nourse Rogers Memorial Veterans Hospital located at 200 Springs Rd, Bedford, MA 01730. Services will be delivered in multiple departments of the facility. Multiple full‑time and part‑time positions across multiple shift schedules are available. It is understood that any assigned schedule is subject to change at the direction of Ansible or its customers.

• Performs blood collection requiring knowledge of clinical science to understand the multiplicity of tests and specimen requirements, the mechanics of venipuncture and patient
• Performs phlebotomy to obtain patient specimens for laboratory testing including blood cultures and compatibility
• Accessions and receives samples into VA and DoD laboratory information system
• Centrifuges samples and pours off into pour off
• Instructs patients in proper collection of 24‑hour urine and other samples
• Prepares collection, measures and records 24‑hour urine
• Transports specimens to the laboratory including those requiring special handling
• Calls up collection lists for inpatient blood draws and looks up order numbers and patient information for outpatient
• Processes samples to the automated loader
• Prepares, accessioning, maintaining, filing and disposing of anatomic pathology specimens and records
• Answers phones and directs calls to other laboratory personnel
• Establishes and maintains effective interpersonal skills and good customer relations with patients, families and all other medical center personnel
• Provides general clerical and administrative support
• Orders, stocks and maintains specialized supplies used in the drawing

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Phlebotomy certification from an accredited agency (e.g., ASCP, AMT, AMCA, etc.)
• American Heart Association (AHA) CPR/BLS certification
• Minimum of 6 months of experience within the last 3 years as a Patient Service Technician/Phlebotomist
• Experience with the Vista Laboratory Information System (LIS) is preferred

• Sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist and reach above shoulders during the work shift
• Lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist
• Lift up to 20 lbs
• Carry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distance
• Push/pull with 30 lbs of force
