Summary:
The Manager of Robotic Manufacturing Engineering is expected to manage manufacturing engineers and engineering technicians, while contributing personally toward high level company objectives in the manufacturing of robotics for the semiconductor industry. The Manufacturing Engineering Group will be working on a variety of tasks including but not limited to:
Process engineering and process control plan development, tooling design and implementation, documentation systems for all manufacturing, implementation of manufacturing support systems including MES, cross-functional team integration, Lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement activities. This position requires someone with broad and deep skills in designing and optimizing manufacturing processes and facilities.

Reports to:
VP of Operations
- Ensure safety by making sure all manufacturing processes, equipment, material handling tools and any associated activities have proper controls to deliver zero lost time accidents.
- Review, approve, and oversee implementation of Engineering Change Orders (ECO) and process changes.
- Model production workflow for multiple product lines based on takt time. Eliminate bottlenecks by developing plans to reduce cycle times, updating processes, and value stream layout.
- Develop recommendations for build strategies for each product, including single piece workflow or batch builds. Recommend planning and implementation strategies for scheduling or kanban replenishment of assemblies.
- Provide technical recommendations to MRB for the disposition of discrepant material and participate in problem solving exercises (8D)
- Work with engineering to understand the design intent of products and assemblies, managing the transition of information from engineering to operations.
- Manage manufacturing engineering’s involvement in new product development, including participation in design reviews, scoping cap ex projects, developing tooling and fixtures, validating bills of materials, and making preliminary work instructions.
- Manage manufacturing engineering projects for sustaining production support, including floor support and troubleshooting; ongoing development and improvement of work instructions; and other projects to support improvement of production and operations.
- Manage engineering technicians as primary resources for building new products, as well as supporting resources for new process instruction and production troubleshooting.
- Support the ongoing improvement of quality records through manufacturing process. Enable product genealogy and serialization, data collection for critical to quality performance metrics, and build performance data.
- Participate as internal auditor for ISO
9001, Participate on Safety committee
- 810 years hands on Manufacturing experience.
- Experience in a repetitive mixed model manufacturing environment
- Ability to develop presentations, present to audience, group training or status to executives
- Measuring process performance; business analytics and reporting
- Data Automation SQL based queries scheduled reporting data extraction and parsing
- Problem solving tools and methodologies:
Ishikawa diagrams, 5 Why, Pareto, etc… - ERP Systems:
Epicor, or similar - MES Systems;
Factory Logix(AEGIS) - LEAN, 6 SIGMA, SPC, flow design, Kan Ban, cycle time, takt time, line balancing, constraint theory, kaizen, 7S, demand flow, CpK, and DOE
- Industry practices;
Copy Exact, ESD, SSQA, POR - Revision Control, ECO practices, and manufacturing workflows
- MS OFFICE Suite
- Cloud tools, including Jira and MS Sharepoint,
- CAD preferably Solidworks and SW Composer
- A broad range of engineering skills, understanding mechanical and electrical concepts, knowledge of manufacturing methods and practices, and working with design documents controlled by specifications and geometric tolerances
- Highest level of integrity and honesty willingness to go above and beyond flexibility, and a team player
- Requires frequent travel up to 20%, to supplier locations which include local, domestic and international destinations
