Work under the supervision of the Manager, Controls Engineering to develop advanced control systems for robotic manipulators and similar electromechanical systems. Responsibilities include motion control and servo tuning, development of dynamic models, modeling and simulations in MATLAB, and implementation of software on real‑time platforms. Additional duties encompass controls‑related machine design analysis and selection of actuators, sensors, and other controls components. Limited travel within and outside the U.S. is required.
EssentialSkills
- Skilled in general mathematical modeling and analysis.
- Familiarity with dynamic system modeling, motion control algorithms, and control systems theory (PID, feed forward).
- Hands‑on experience with control systems, filter design, and tuning.
- Proficiency in MATLAB.
- Experience in C and C++ programming for Linux and embedded systems.
- Some experience with microcontrollers, sensors, prototyping, and troubleshooting.
- State estimation and system identification (model‑based and data‑based).
- Theoretical background in electrical and electronic system design.
- Experience in digital and analog circuit design, embedded systems, microcontroller interfacing, power electronics design, and motion control.
- Thermal modeling and analysis.
- Lab skills including soldering components and PCBA rework.
- B.S. in Computer, Mechanical, Electrical, Aeronautic or related engineering field with a minimum of 2 years of work experience.
- M.S./Ph.D. in Computer, Mechanical, Electrical, Aeronautic or related engineering field with 0 to 1 year of work experience.
The compensation range for this position is $100k to $170k. The actual pay offered will be determined by multiple factors, including but not limited to the candidate’s relevant experience, skills, job‑related knowledge, internal equity, and geographic location.
