Food Service Worker

Job Summary

Prepares, presents and serves food to students and staff. Follows food safety standards and Cook’s recipes to ensure quality and portion control.

North Lawrence Community Schools, 460 West Street, Bedford, IN 47421.

Full‑time and part‑time opportunities. Shifts vary; select from 6:30 am to 2:30 pm. Details provided during interview.

Fixed pay rate: $14.25 per hour.

• Perform prep work such as washing, peeling, cutting, and seeding fruits and vegetables.
• Weigh and measure designated ingredients.
• Carry pans, kettles, and trays from stations to stove and refrigerator while maintaining safety.
• Store food following wrapping, dating, food safety, and rotation procedures.
• Clean work areas, equipment, and utensils.
• Distribute supplies, utensils, and portable equipment.
• Use approved recipes and production standards to ensure proper serving temperatures and portion control.
• Serve customers in a friendly, efficient manner following outlined steps.
• Resolve customer concerns and relay relevant information to supervisor.
• Ensure compliance with company service standards, inventory, and cash control procedures.
• Assure compliance with all sanitation and safety requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
