Backend Developer

Backend Developer - Warrington - £55k (DOE)

I'm partnering with a well-established organisation that are expanding their engineering function and are now looking for a Backend Developer to join one of their product-focused delivery teams.

This role is well suited to an experienced backend engineer who enjoys working on modern systems, values clean code and testing, and wants to be part of a collaborative, Agile engineering environment.

You’ll be part of a cross-functional delivery team, working closely with frontend developers, product, and project management to design and deliver high-quality backend solutions. The focus is on building robust, scalable server-side applications using .NET technologies
, supporting business-critical systems used across the organisation.

• Designing, building, and maintaining backend services using C# and .NET
• Collaborating with project management to translate requirements into well-structured technical solutions
• Writing clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following best practices
• Implementing automated unit and integration tests to ensure system reliability
• Working effectively within an Agile/Scrum delivery environment

• C#, .NET
• SQL databases
• ORM frameworks (Entity Framework, Dapper)
• Git Hub (source control, package management)
• Automated testing in a .NET environment
• Agile / Scrum

Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS or Azure) is beneficial but not essential.

• 3+ years of commercial backend development experience
• Strong experience with C#, .NET, and SQL
• Solid understanding of software development principles and design patterns
• Experience writing and maintaining automated tests
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Clear and confident communication skills
• Experience working in Agile teams
