Overview

RN 2 South 3852 - FT - 1611971. The 2 South unit is responsible for the treatment of patients requiring Medical-Surgical, Observational or Out-Patient nursing care. The unit is responsible for the treatment of medical and surgical nursing, initiating life saving procedures, providing emergency care for each patient as well as care to patients that require telemetry monitoring. The unit delivery of care includes assessment, problem identification, pre-operative assessment, pre and post-operative care, interventions, treatment and evaluation of actual, potential, or perceived physical or psychological problems.

• Procedures or treatments provided on 2-South nursing unit include, but are not limited to: monitoring Observation Patients, admission assessment, pre and post operative care, pre and post endoscopy care, medication administration, IV therapy, administration of blood and blood products, post radiation treatments, pain control, pulse oximeter, O2 therapy, insertion of foley catheters, IV and PCA Pumps, blood warmers, NG tube placement, tube feedings, assisting physician with insertion of chest tubes, abdominal paracentesis and thoracentesis, maintenance of CVP lines, blood draws from CVP lines, wound care and defibrillation.

• Graduate of a School of Nursing / College Nursing Education Program
• Current licensure by the West Virginia State Board of Nursing.
• Pass pre-employment medication test with a score of 80% or better.
