RN 2 South 3857 - FT - 1611973:
The 2 South unit provides medical-surgical, observational, or outpatient nursing care. The unit delivers care that includes assessment, problem identification, pre-operative and post-operative care, medication administration, IV therapy, wound care, telemetry monitoring, and emergency care. Responsibilities include initiating life-saving procedures and providing care to patients with various medical and surgical needs, as well as those requiring pre- and post-procedure management and evaluation of physical or psychological problems.

• Monitor Observation Patients
• Admission assessment
• Pre- and post-operative care
• Pre- and post-endoscopy care
• Medication administration
• IV therapy
• Administration of blood and blood products
• Post-radiation treatments
• Pain control
• Pulse oximetry and O2 therapy
• Insertion of foley catheters, IV and PCA pumps
• Blood warmers
• NG tube placement and tube feedings
• Assisting physician with insertion of chest tubes
• Abdominal paracentesis and thoracentesis
• Maintenance of CVP lines and blood draws from CVP lines
• Wound care and defibrillation

• Graduate of a School of Nursing / College Nursing Education Program
• Current licensure by the West Virginia State Board of Nursing
• Pass pre-employment medication test with a score of 80% or better
