Role SummaryMedical Command is the key link in the communication chain between air and ground pre‑hospital personnel and receiving hospital personnel. The command center at Raleigh General Hospital facilitates activation of the facility's priority response teams (Cardiac Cath Lab, Stroke, Trauma etc.). This role also functions as the Transfer Center to coordinate prompt and efficient transfers in and out of the hospital.
HowYou'll Contribute
- Assist in optimum operation of the Region 1 Medical Command Center by establishing linkages and relaying all appropriate information to the patient care team.
- Activate the appropriate response team for patient care alerts (STEMI, Trauma, Stroke, etc.) and receive and relay patient information from inbound ground and air transport units per protocol.
- Coordinate the role as a regional communication and disaster resource center.
- Prepare statistical reports and perform clerical functions such as filing, mail preparation, data entry, scanning, and faxing.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Current certification as a West Virginia EMT Paramedic.
- At least 2 years of recent and active field experience as a Paramedic.
