Technician 2
In the Defense Systems sector, you’ll join our experts in developing systems that keep our world safe. We are looking for an Engineering Technician 2 that demonstrates the following critical skills:
- Provides technical support to engineers on a variety of technical tasks.
- Gathers, maintains, formats, compiles, and manipulates technical data, such as laboratory or material test results and engineering design changes.
- Produces engineering documentation, reports, drawings (flow charts, block diagrams, and schematics).
- Performs detailed mathematical calculations using established formulas; preliminary analyses of data where guidelines are provided in such areas as trajectory adequacy, model dimensional consistency; and quantitative judgments concerning technical data.
- Uses computer in performance of analyses and development of documentation/reports.
- May conduct tests and record data to assist with engineering evaluation or analysis.
The successful candidate will be a self-starter, a team player, and work both independently and as part of a large multi-disciplined team. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as interpersonal skills in order to coordinate with a variety of disciplines are also essential. This position requires the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt quickly to frequently changing requirements.
This position requires on-site work in Rocket Center, WV
Basic Qualifications for Engineering Technician 2- High School diploma or equivalent and/or related experience in defense industry
- US Citizenship required
- Ability to obtain a DoD Secret Security Clearance
- Minimum of 2 years of direct relevant experience in the field of electronic assembly or testing
- Ability to operate independently with minimal supervision
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills in managing time, projects and resources in a laboratory environment
- Knowledge of mechanical, manufacturing, and development processes
- Ability to interpret 2D drawings
- Ability to troubleshoot components and systems
- Ability to efficiently utilize Microsoft Office applications
- A minimum of 4 years of direct relevant experience in the field of electro-mechanics (assembly and/or testing)
- Active DoD Secret Security clearance
- Experience working in defense industry or high reliability product lane preferred
- Cable and harness assembly and test experience
- Understanding of basic schematics related to wiring of special test equipment
- Knowledge of basic mechanical systems and tools
- Experience working on unusually complex technical projects in a laboratory environment
- Work history demonstrating fine motor skills
- Willingness to work overtime when required; ~10%
Primary Level Salary Range: $48,400.00 - $80,600.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
