Graphics Software Developer Job Description
This role involves working closely with graphics drivers and understanding their interfaces and functionality. You will work with the Windows operating system to leverage hardware capabilities and manage desktop configurations. The primary focus is on backend development, including Windows APIs, inter-process communication, and interaction with graphics interfaces and drivers.
Responsibilities- Develop and optimize backend applications on Windows using C/C++.
- Work with graphics APIs such as Vulkan, Direct
X, and OpenGL to program graphics applications. - Interact with graphics drivers from Nvidia, AMD, and Intel for hardware acceleration and desktop manipulation.
- Optimize GPU outputs in terms of graphics rendering and shader performance.
- Collaborate on developing and maintaining display controllers for medical imaging products.
- Engage in shader development and performance optimization.
- Receive and analyze visual feedback to ensure optimal GPU performance.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Computer Graphics.
- 5+ years of experience with Windows desktop application development, especially backend development involving graphics APIs.
- Proficiency in C and C++ programming.
- Experience with graphics rendering techniques and architecture.
- Proficiency in shader development and rendering optimization.
- Experience with APIs such as Vulkan, Direct
X 11 or 12, and OpenGL.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with game engines and 3D rendering.
- Knowledge of Nvidia CUDA and AMD graphics library.
- Experience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS.
- Familiarity with Intel Media SDK, Win
32, and inter-process communication.
You will be part of a small team of 8-10 members in Portland, working in a collaborative and supportive environment. Initially, you will train under a retiring team member for six months, gaining a wealth of knowledge and eventually taking over product ownership. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Beaverton, OR.
Pay And BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $48.08 - $62.50/hr.
