Responsibilities and requirements for the bartender position are described below. This description is not intended to be exhaustive; duties may be added or reassigned by management as needed. All employees may be required to perform duties outside of their normal responsibilities from time to time.
OverviewIn general, every bartender will be asked to handle tasks from opening to closing of the bar. Duties include but are not limited to serving food, pouring and serving beer, wine, and spirits, operating a cash register and/or a POS system, waiting on and bussing tables, doing dishes, restocking supplies, general cleaning, completing the books after shifts, and maintaining customer relations.
The role includes cashiering duties. The position requires physical stamina, mental agility, and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment. Work may occur in both smoking and non-smoking environments. The ability to work independently and as part of a team is required. All employees are expected to work safely and report safety concerns to Management. Employees should stay current on company events, history, and products.
Other duties may be assigned by the Manager on duty.
- Provide customer service and produce high-quality beverages.
- Safely perform heavy lifting and carry with assistance as needed.
- Value diversity and work with individuals from different backgrounds.
- Remain calm and focused in a high-volume, deadline-oriented environment.
- Accurately follow drink specifications and recipes.
- Work on your feet for long periods and in shifts that may include stairs.
- Handle cash accurately and work with numbers.
- Perform repetitive movements and use of kitchen equipment and sharp objects safely.
- Communicate clearly and be positive, polite, and cooperative with co-workers, managers, vendors, and customers.
- Work with and around chemicals used in cleaning and sanitizing.
- Complete miscellaneous side work as directed by the manager on duty.
- Obtain and maintain current food handlers and OLCC/WA liquor license.
- Previous bartending experience preferred.
- Knowledge of wine and spirits preferred.
- Provide excellent customer service and produce high-quality beverages for customers.
- Remain positive and professional in a fast-paced environment.
- Work independently and as part of a team; report safety concerns to Management.
- Food Handlers Card
