We have an exciting opportunity for a Tool and Die Maker 3 to support the execution of our technical vision and join a high performing team. This role is at the center of protecting that legacy by ensuring that future products continue to outperform, out inspire, and outlast all others in the field. Our tool and die teams support all critical business areas including new product development, R&D, automation, and sustaining manufacturing.
This is a hands‑on role where you’ll collaborate cross‑functionally, build/fabricate a high mix of complex tooling, lead/coordinate projects in collaboration with our Engineering teams, and relentlessly explore improvements while developing other team members.

Participates in the design and development of a broad range of tools to support the manufacture and assembly of L&S products. Applies specialized skill sets to independently analyze specifications, sets up and operates a wide range of machine tools, fits and assembles parts as well as fabricate, maintain and repair metalworking dies, cutting tools, jigs, fixtures and gages. Troubleshoots problems, identifies solutions, and initiates corrective action.
Manages projects and ensures schedules are timelines are maintained.
- Sets-up and operates a full range of both manual and CNC machine tools (lathe, milling machine and grinder) in order to design and build both simple and more complex tooling. Determines machining requirements and processes and verifies conformance of machined parts to specifications
- With only general guidance, works from blueprints, sketches, models and verbal description in order to build, rebuild, modify, and repair tools, dies, gages and necessary equipment. Determines required work tools and measurement devices.
- Reviews and verifies prints and drawings, determines availability of materials and equipment and priorities and schedules workflow as appropriate.
- Computes dimensions and plan layout and assembly operation. Measures, marks and scribes metal stock for machining. Plumbs pneumatic components for fixturing.
- Fabricates, maintains, modifies and repairs metalworking dies, cutting tools, jigs, fixtures and gages. Ensures that designs incorporate the best ergonomics, quality and process expectations.
- Builds, tests, calibrates, adjusts and maintains production gauging. Schedules outside vendor calibrations, creates or updates calibration procedures, orders new gauging. Maintains gauging database and prepares instruments prior to issue.
- Participates in the development of performance specifications for tools and fixtures based on internal customer requirements. Works with tool engineers to identify and implement design improvements.
- Effectively troubleshoots tool and die problems. Investigates issues, isolates cause, and determines corrective action.
