Data Analyst (Merchandising)
Our client is seeking a Data Analyst (Merchandising) to support data-driven decision-making across product, assortment, and marketplace strategies. This role is ideal for a technically strong analyst who thrives in ambiguity, enjoys translating complex data into clear insights, and can partner closely with business stakeholders in a fast-paced, matrixed environment. The ideal candidate brings strong retail analytics experience, advanced technical skills, and the ability to influence decisions through storytelling and visualization.
This role is a hybrid model in Beaverton, Oregon.
Responsibilities- Analyze large, complex datasets using advanced SQL and Python or R to uncover insights related to product performance, assortment strategy, pricing, and distribution.
- Develop, maintain, and deliver Tableau dashboards and visualizations that clearly communicate findings to non-technical business partners.
- Work with point-of-sale and marketplace data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities that inform merchandising decisions.
- Integrate and reconcile data from multiple sources to build accurate, scalable analytical frameworks and models.
- Partner closely with merchandising, planning, operations, and analytics teams to support strategic initiatives and ongoing analysis.
- Translate analytical findings into actionable recommendations through clear data storytelling and executive-ready materials.
- Manage multiple analytical projects simultaneously while navigating evolving priorities and loosely defined objectives.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required.
- Strong proficiency in SQL with demonstrated experience using Python or R for data analysis.
- Advanced experience building dashboards and visualizations in Tableau.
- Proven background in data analytics, with retail or point-of-sale data experience strongly preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in analytics, data science, or a related quantitative discipline.
- Experience working with modern data environments such as Snowflake or Databricks.
- Solid understanding of statistics and analytical methodologies, with the ability to build or interpret basic data models.
- Ability to communicate complex analyses clearly to business and senior stakeholders.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment with a bias toward action.
- Experience with in large, matrixed retail or consumer organizations is highly preferred.
Up to $48/hr. (DOE)
